ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Zahid Akram Durrani has taken the Oath as the 20th Deputy Speaker of the 15th National Assembly of Pakistan at the Parliament House in Islamabad on Thursday.

The Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf administered the Oath to him.

Earlier Zahid Akram Durrani of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) was elected unopposed as he was the only candidate to have submitted the nomination papers for the slot of the Deputy Speaker National Assembly.

Last Saturday, Qasim Khan Suri tendered his resignation as the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly prior to voting on the No-Trust Motion tabled against him.
