BAKU, Azerbaijan: The first Trilateral Meeting of the Speakers of Parliaments of Azerbaijan, Pakistan, and Turkey was held at the Azerbaijani Parliament in Baku on Tuesday.

Later, the Speaker of Azerbaijani Parliament Sahiba Gafarova, the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa Sentop, and the Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan Asad Qaiser signed the Baku Declaration.

The Baku Declaration is directed to form the establishment of comprehensive cooperation between the Parliaments of Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Pakistan.

Asad Qaiser led a 14-member Pakistani Parliamentary delegation in the trilateral meeting.

The Pakistani Parliamentary delegation included Sahibzada Sibghatullah, Saleh Muhammad, Saif Ur Rehman, Shaukat Ali, Munaza Hussain, Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Fazal Muhammad Khan, Raja Khurram Shahzad Nawaz, Dr. Aisha Ghaus Pasha, Syed Mustafa Mehmood, Syed Hussain Tariq, Usama Qadri, and Naz Baloch.

Speaking at the trilateral meeting, Asad Qaiser said that Pakistan, Azerbaijan, and Turkey enjoy cordial relations based on faith, trust, and understanding.

Asad Qaiser said that we reiterated to promote parliamentary relations to enhance political and economic cooperation for the prosperity and reaffirmed support on issues of core national interests.

During its visit to Azerbaijan, the Pakistani Parliamentary delegation led by the Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser also visited the Alley of Martyrs in Baku.

Asad Qaiser laid a wreath at the memorial of the martyrs and offered Fateha for the elevation of their ranks.

Chief of the Air Staff expressed his gratitude for the honour of receiving the Bahrain Medal - First Class. On the sidelines of Bahrain International Airshow, Commander of Ninth Air Force (US Air Forces Central Command — AFCENT), Lieutenant General Derek France called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force. The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
