National AssemblyPakistan's Parliament reiterates all out support for Kashmiris

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Joint Session of the Parliament is underway at the Parliament House in Islamabad on Tuesday with the Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser in the Chair.

The Session is discussing the recent surge in unprovoked firing and shelling on civilian population and use of cluster bombs by Indian forces in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

It is also debating the deployment of additional troops and atrocities in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and recent developments with regard to abrogating the Article 370 of the Indian Constitution which paved the way for ending the Special Status to Indian Occupied Kashmir.

Meanwhile talking to media outside the Parliament House, the Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that Pakistan’s Parliament will send across a strong message through its joint session that the Country stands with Kashmiris in their just struggle for right to self-determination in Occupied Kashmir.

Dr Firdous said that the ongoing two-day special Parliamentary Session on the situation in Occupied Kashmir and India’s move to revoke Article 370 should give a united stance of Pakistan.

Firdous Ashiq Awan said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is contacting various world leaders on the developments in India on Kashmir. She said that Pakistan will forcefully present the case of Kashmir at every relevant international forum.

The Special Assistant further said that the Indian government’s move of revoking Article 370 is disrespect and violation of the UN Security Council resolutions on the Kashmir issue. She said that the United Nations should seek answer from India for this act to ensure protection of its resolutions on the issue.
