ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Lower House of the Parliament – National Assembly – is likely to accord its consent to three bills related to the Offices of three Services Chiefs on Tuesday, a day after its Standing Committee on Defence unanimously approved it.

The bills titled “Pakistan Army (Amendment) Bill 2020”, “Pakistan Air Force (Amendment) Bill 2020” and “Pakistan Navy (Amendment) Bill 2020” had been tabled in the House by the Defence Minister Pervez Khattak.

Later three bills were sent to the Standing Committee for detailed deliberation, which it did, and eventually passed them with unanimous consent.

Now the National Assembly will take up the bills today, and most likely to uphold the decision of the Defence Body. If sailed through the Lower House smoothly, the bills will be laid before the Senate – the Upper House of the Parliament.

Meanwhile on her twitter account, the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan wrote today that the unanimous approval of the Army Act bill by the National Assembly Standing Committee on Defense is a proof that we are all united for the Country’s interests.

Firdous Ashiq Awan said that unanimous stance of political parties on an important national issue is triumph of democracy.

The Special Assistant said that mutual harmony is need of the hour in view of the prevailing situation in the region. She said that Pakistani nation has always overcome challenges through unity and solidarity. She added that protection of national security and interests is our foremost priority.
