ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: A parliamentary delegation from Malaysia headed by its Speaker Mohamad Ariff bin Mohamad Yusof witnessed proceedings of National Assembly at the Parliament House in Islamabad on Tuesday.
The Malaysian delegation also met the Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser at the Parliament House, and discussed the Kashmir situation besides Pakistan-Malaysia bilateral relations.
Welcoming the delegation, the Speaker Asad Qaiser said that Pakistan and Malaysia enjoy historic relations. He said that Pakistan deeply appreciates the Malaysian support to Kashmir cause.
Asad Qaiser pointed out that the Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamed effectively raised the Kashmir dispute at the recently concluded UN General Assembly Session.
The Speaker National Assembly said that the visit of the Malaysian parliamentary delegation to Pakistan will open new vistas of cooperation and strengthen mutual ties between the two Countries.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives of Malaysia said that his Country wants the resolution of Jammu and Kashmir as per the UN Security Council resolutions.
Earlier the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Malaysia Mohamad Ariff bin Mohamad Yusof and the Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser planted a sapling of Mangolia Garndiflora at the Parliament House.
The members of the Malaysian delegation expressed their deep commitment to Pakistan, and offered special prayers for development and prosperity of the entire Ummah.
The Malaysian Speaker also inscribed his remarks in visitor book at the Parliament House.
