In a statement, the Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry told the House apart from fencing the Pak-Afghan border that modern immigration system was in place on the border to prevent illegal entrance.

The phase-wise fencing of the entire Pak-Afghan border began in June 2017 as part of Military Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad to stop infiltration of terrorists from across the border.

In first phase, high infiltration prone border areas in Bajaur, Mohmand and Khyber Agencies were being fenced, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) had said on June 20.

As per the ISPR, in second phase, fencing of remaining border areas including Balochistan would be executed.

Talal Chaudhry further informed the House that efforts were being made for recovery of Zahoor Shah, Sepoy of Frontier Constabulary (FC) Balochistan (Special Operations Wing) who went missing from Chaman Border Post since June 15, 2016 and was in custody of Afghan Army.

The minister said the Foreign Office had raised the issue with Afghan security advisor for early return of the FC personnel.

The state minister said it was the confirmed report that the missing Sepoy was in the custody of Afghan army, adding that Pakistan ambassador to Afghanistan had taken up the issue with the quarters concerned.
