Musharraf granted exemption from appearance in Ghazi murder case

ISLAMABAD: A local court in Islamabad on Saturday granted former president Pervez Musharraf exemption from appearing before it today in a case relating to the murder of Lal Masjid cleric Maulana Abdul Rasheed Ghazi and summoned him for appearance on March 15.

The Islamabad’s additional sessions court judge Wajid Ali resumed the hearing of the case, during which Musharraf’s lawyer filed a petition seeking permanent exemption for his client in the cleric killing case.

Subsequently, the court decided to discuss the matter of permanent exemption for Musharraf from court appearances in its next hearing on March 15.
