ISLAMABAD: The prime minister’s advisor on Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz said on Friday that the senior Taliban leader Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar has nothing to do with the Pakistani Taliban, adding that he will play his role in Afghan reconciliation whenever assigned.

“Mullah Baradar’s release was aimed at him contacting the Afghan Taliban to figure out what his role would be in the reconciliation process,” Aziz told media representatives in Islamabad Friday afternoon.

The advisor said that anti-terrorism strategy has been prepared in light of All Parties Conference and will soon be presented in the federal cabinet for approval.
