Israel violates 72-hour ceasefire, four more Palestinians killed in Gaza

GAZA CITY: Despite the fact that Israel and the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas have put into effect a 72-hour ceasefire on humanitarian basis in the Gaza strip, the Israeli forces killed four more Palestinians and injured many others.

The ceasefire which started on Friday between the two sides is meant to allow humanitarian aid to reach civilians in Gaza caught up in the violence.

However, Israel violated the ceasefire brokered by the United States and the United Nations as its warplanes bombed the town of Rafah in the south of the coastal enclave, killing at least four persons and injuring many others.

The health officials said that over 1,460 Palestinians mostly civilians have been killed and more than 8,300 others injured in 25 days of Israeli attacks on the Gaza strip.
