CAIRO: An arrest warrant was issued in Egypt for the country’s top Sunni cleric Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi on Friday on charges of inciting the killing of Egyptian security forces and meddling in the country’s affairs.
The chief prosecutor of Egypt issued the arrest warrant for the Qatar-based cleric who has been a major critic of the country’s military following the ouster of Egypt’s first democratically elected president Mohamed Morsi on July 3.
