Army chief leaves for Saudi Arabia on two-day official visit

RAWALPINDI: The army Chief General Raheel Sharif on Monday left for Saudi Arabia on a two-day official visit to witness Saudi Military Exercise “Sword of Abdullah.”

A press release issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) in Rawalpindi states that the army chief is visiting Saudi Arabia on the invitation of Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The army chief along with King of Bahrain, Crown Prince of United Arab Emirate (UAE), Prime Minister of Jordan and other military commanders from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries will witness the Exercise to be held on Tuesday (April 29).

Earlier, General Raheel Sharif was seen off at Nur Khan Air Base by senior military officials.
