ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Zahoor Ahmed – a BS-21 Officer of Secretariat Group – has been appointed as the Managing Director of the Pakistan Television Corporation (PTVC) for a period of three months.Zahoor Ahmed appointed MD PTVZahoor had already been serving as the Additional Secretary In-charge at the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and now has been the assigned the additional post of the Managing Director PTV.

In pursuance of Cabinet Decision No. 568/Rule-19/2023/822, dated 20-09-2023 M. Zahoor Ahmed a (BS-21) Officer, Additional Secretary (In-charge), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is appointed as Managing Director, Pakistan Television Corporation, on additional charge basis, w.e.f. 21-09-2023 for the period of three months,” read the notification issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Thursday.

Having a master’s degree from the Philosophy Department of Government College Lahore (GCU), Zahoor Ahmed comes with 30 years of experience of working with the government of Pakistan, the United Nations, USAID, and Civil Society Organizations. He has worked in key ministries of the federal government of Pakistan in public finance management, policy making, public diplomacy, coordination and implementation positions.Zahoor Ahmed appointed MD PTVZahoor has worked in key ministries of the federal government of Pakistan in public finance management, policy making, public diplomacy, coordination and implementation positions. He has been part of the select team to design and articulate budget communications on a number of occasions. He has played key role in articulating public diplomacy and outreach initiatives of the federal government.

He has a vast experience of designing, managing and delivering policy dialogue with diverse actors for reform in the education sector. He brings considerable knowledge of government of Pakistan reform issues, particularly with respect to governance, human resources, sector financing, devolution and information and accountability mechanisms.
