ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: A two-member delegation of Parliamentary Reporters Association (PRA) met the Secretary Information and Broadcasting Shafqat Jalil in Islamabad on Friday, and deliberated upon the issue of implementing decisions taken in the Senate Standing Committee on Information meeting.

The PRA delegation, comprising on the President PRA Behzad Saleemi and the Secretary Information Ali Sher, also held the discussion with the secretary information with regard to ensuring the disbursement of salaries to employees in media houses before Eid-ul-Fitr.

The Secretary Information and Broadcasting Shafqat Jalil assured the PRA delegation that the payment of all dues to media houses will be conditioned with the payment of salaries to journalists.Parliamentary Reporters Association

Earlier on Thursday, the PRA President Behzad Saleemi, the Secretary General M.B. Soomro, and the Secretary Information Ali Sher on a special invitation attended the Senate Standing Committee on Information meeting in Islamabad, wherein they presented a nine-point Charter of Demand pertaining to journalists’ issues.

The Committee extended its full support for the nine-point Charter of Demand of the PRA, and urged the government to pay all outstanding dues in Ramazan.
