MediaKPK launches Web TV

PESHAWAR, Pakistan: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government Tuesday launched a Web TV  `Badloon” with the objective of projecting policies and decisions taken for the development of the province to large number of people.

Chief Minister KPK, Pervez Khattak performed formal inauguration of the Web TV at a ceremony held in Information Department.

Secretary Information, Abid Majeed apprised the Chief Minister about objective and working of the ‘Badloon’.

Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Information said objective of the project is to reach more people for informing them about measures being taken by KP government for the development of the province and welfare of people.

It would reach to a sizeable number of people who uses internet.

Initially it is a two months test transmission project which will be extended said Secretary Information while giving a presentation.

Badloon will also broadcast news besides entertainment, tourism, interviews of public figures, current affairs and religion.

Abid Majeed said a team of volunteers will also be formed who can contribute their content to the staff of Badloon and will be aired after proper wetting.

The TV will also serve as training center for youngster who can learn basics of journalism by sending their contribution for broadcast, he added.

In response to a question, Secretary Information said Badloon will not be a commercial TV and therefore no add will run on it.

It will be an eight hours transmission TV which will operate 24 hours by repeating the programmes on daily basis.

He said government had planned to launch a formal TV but it was changed due to long delay in getting permission from PEMRA. Now the KPK government has decided to launch Web TV and later after completing formalities of PEMRA, proper TV channel will be launched.
