SENATE-OF-PAKISTAN

ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting was held in Islamabad on Friday under the chairmanship of Kamil Ali Agha.

During the meeting, the committee was informed that a media code of ethics has been prepared in consultation with the stakeholders.

The Secretary Information Dr. Nazir Saeed briefed the committee about the code of conduct and said it will be presented before the committee.

The committee noted that certain media outlets are violating the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) rules regarding broadcast of foreign content.

It said that the authority should fully exercise its powers and take strict action against the media houses violating the rules.
