LAHORE, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique on Wednesday once again lambasted the Opposition Parties, saying those people who used to call each other thieves had now been gathered against the incumbent government of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

In a tweet, Saad Rafique said the actual intentions of the Opposition Parties had now been fully exposed and the whole World witnessed it.Mall Road Protest: Opponents’ actual intentions fully exposed, says Saad Rafique

His remarks arrived when the Joint Opposition including Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Awami Muslim League (AML), Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) and Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) are set to stage a protest at Mall Road in Lahore, demanding the Punjab government to take culprits of 2014 Model Town massacre to task.

Meanwhile, all preparations have been finalized for the Joint Opposition Protest while a stage has been established atop a container in front of the Punjab assembly building.

The Punjab government, on the other hand, has called Rangers to tackle the situation.

Talking to media after his arrival in Lahore to participate in the protest called by PAT Chief Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri, the PSP Chief Mustafa Kamal said innocent people were brutally murdered in Lahore, adding Karachiites also shared the grief of people of Lahore.

“If we keep silence, we will also be considered the fellows of brutality,” Mustafa Kamal said.

The AML Chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed said today was the protest’s first day against the looters, thieves and dacoits.

“Our protest is against those who rewarded Rs nine billion to their son-in-law through the Cabinet, he said.

Sheikh Rasheed said those people thought looting the Country was their right. He said those people were humiliating institutions on foreign agenda.

The PTI leader Babar Awan said holding protest in Lahore was right of political parties, adding the Punjab government should not try to halt the protest.

Babar Awan said today’s protest was not limited to Mall Road. He said the Court should also take Suo Moto notice of Model Town incident.
