Lt General Asim Malik appointed as New DG ISIRAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Lieutenant General Muhammad Asim Malik has been appointed as the Director General of the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI), the Country’s premier intelligence agency.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that Lt General Asim Malik will assume his new responsibilities on September 30, 2024.

Currently, Lieutenant General Asim is serving as the Adjutant General at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

Prior to this, he has commanded an Infantry Division in Balochistan and an Infantry Brigade in Waziristan.

Lt General Asim has also been awarded the honorary sword in his course.

Additionally, he has served as the Chief Instructor at the National Defence University (NDU) in Islamabad and as an instructor at the Command and Staff College in Quetta. He is a graduate of Fort Leavenworth and the Royal College of Defence Studies.
