Senate committee recommends lifting ban on YouTube ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the Senate’s Functional Committee on Human Rights was held in Islamabad on Monday with Senator Afrasiab Khattak in the chair, during which it unanimously passed a resolution about lifting ban from YouTube website.

The committee said the issue of lifting ban from YouTube will be raised in today’s senate session. The committee suggested that ban on the website is of no use.

The video sharing website was blocked in September 2012 after its administration and Google Incorporation refused to comply with a request by Pakistan and some other Muslim countries to remove a blasphemous video from the site.
