KARACHI/LAHORE: Heavy monsoon rains continued to batter upper parts of the country, as well as Punjab, with more rains likely in Punjab and Sindh during the next 24 hours.

Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD) forecast wide-spread rain and thundershower in Kashmir‚ Hazara‚ Islamabad‚ Rawalpindi‚ Gujranwala‚ Sialkot‚ Sahiwal and Lahore divisions.

It said said Islamabad received the heaviest downpour‚ which has received 200 milimetres of rain so far.

According to Met Office‚ Sialkot has received 103 mm rain‚ Gujranwala 33 mm‚ Jhelum 17 mm‚ and Balakot and Gari Dupata 15 milimeter.

The Met Office has forecast isolated rain at various places in lower Sindh during the next 12 hours.
