ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari‚ on the advice of the Prime Minister‚ has granted special remission in sentences to convicts of different categories on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The special remissions will be admissible provided the convicts have undergone two-thirds of their of imprisonment.

The special remission will not be admissible to those who are convicted for heinous crimes‚ including murder‚ espionage and anti-state activities‚ sectarianism‚ rape‚ robbery‚ dacoity‚ kidnapping‚ abduction and terrorist acts.
