ISLAMABAD: Under the umbrella of the prime minister’s youth programme, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif launched the interest free loan scheme in Islamabad on Thursday under which 250,000 loans will be disbursed among deserving people this year while 1,000,000 loans will be given away during the next four years.

Under the scheme, upper limit of the interest-free loan has been fixed at Rs50,000 while every person can get loan from Rs10,000 to Rs50,000 for small businesses. 50 percent of the loans will be given to women.

In his address at the launching ceremony, the prime minister said that we want women to come forward and play their role in the development of the country.

Sharif said that we will serve the nation without any discrimination and the loans will be provided irrespective of any political affiliation. He said that our agenda is the development and prosperity of the country.
