ISLAMABAD: A murder case has been lodged against Shakeel Afridi, the doctor who helped the CIA track down former Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, by the Khyber Agency administration on the complaint of a mother whose son died after Dr Shakeel conducted his surgery when he was not qualified to do so.
The mother alleged that Dr Shakeel unlawfully operated on her son for appendicitis in 2007 in his private clinic situated in Bara area though the doctor was not authorized to do as he was a physician, not a surgeon.
Dr Shakeel is presently imprisoned in Peshawar jail on charges of having links with a banned outfit.
