Mobile phone companies pull out marketing campaigns from Geo TV network

ISLAMABAD: In a move that is aimed at keeping the sentiments of their customers in mind, the mobile phone companies operating in Pakistan are pulling out their marketing campaigns from three television channels owned by the Geo TV network including Geo News, Geo Entertainment and Geo Super.

The media reports said on Thursday that the mobile phone companies have temporarily blocked their ad campaigns on Geo TV network.

The Geo TV plunged into a new controversy when earlier this month an episode of the famous Geo Entertainment morning show ‘Utho Jago Pakistan’ contained blasphemous content that later prompted widespread condemnation and criticism.
