RAWALPINDI: Lt-Gen Qamar Bajwa was made Corp Commander, Rawapindi while Maj-Gen Amir Riaz was appointed as Director General (DG), Military Operation (MO) on Monday.

The corps commander would take charge of his office on August 14.

According to the ISPR, Lt-Gen Khalid Nawaz, corp commander, Rawalpindi will retire on Tuesday. He will be replaced with Lt-Gen Qamar Bajwa.

The new corps commander will assume the charge of his office on the Independence Day.

According to military sources, Maj-Gen Amir Riaz to has been appointment as Director General of Military Operation.

The seat fell vacant after Major-General Ashfaq was given promotion.
