SUKKUR: A newlywed couple, who eloped and got married almost a year back, was killed by unidentified persons near Sukkur city of Sindh on Thursday.

Police said Ahsan Ali and his wife Gul Taj were gunned down when armed men barged into their home located in Sukkur’s Saleh Patt tehsil.

The couple had been attacked several times, police said, adding that their relatives might have killed them under the allegation of karo-kari.

Their bodies were shifted to Taluka Rohri hospital for post mortem.
