ISLAMABAD: The interior minister on Friday directed the authorities that fool proof security and a bullet-proof vehicle be provided to former Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on a priority basis, media reported.
Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry who retired on Wednesday after completing his tenure as Chief Justice of Pakistan had requested the authorities concerned to provide him full proof security and a bullet-proof vehicle, saying he was facing threats.
Following his request, the interior ministry directed Inspector General of Police Islamabad to provide security to the former chief justice.
According to reports, the interior ministry also wrote to the cabinet division for providing the bullet-proof vehicle.
