Premier Luxury Designer Label Élan launches Élan Lawn 2015

LAHORE: Pakistan’s premier luxury designer label Élan launched their much anticipated Spring/Summer 2015 Lawn collection this season for their brand “Élan Lawn” in collaboration with one of Pakistan’s leading manufacturers of high quality textile products, the Sapphire Group.

The collection was revealed through a series of exclusive previews on 17th March 2015 in Karachi and in Lahore on 18th March 2015. Élan Lawn S/S ’15 is now available for purchase in over 25 cities across Pakistan and internationally through the brand’s e-store www.elan.pk.

The exclusive preview events in Karachi and Lahore featured live fashion presentations headlined by Rabia Butt, the face of Élan Lawn 2015 with live music performances by Mirage in Karachi and Jimmy Khan and The Big Ears in Lahore. Both the events were attended by fashion stalwarts, celebrities, social and media personalities alike including: designers Deepak Perwani, Rehan Bashir, Shehla Chatoor, Sania Maskatiya, Maheen Karim, Nefer Sehgal, Adnan Pardesy, Misha Lakhani, Nida Azwer and Nomi Ansari; stylists Maha Burney, Beenish Parvez and Tabesh Khoja of NABILA; TV personalities Anoushey Ashraf and Sana Ansari to name a selection. The make and styling for the fashion presentation was done by NABILA in Karachi and Maram & Aabroo in Lahore with event management by Catwalk in Karachi and J&S in Lahore with Public Relations by Lotus for both.

Available in 15 distinct designs, each in 2 colour-ways, designer Khadijah Shah has engaged a unique approach to design development, introducing meticulous detailing not typically found in conventional lawn prints. Each print has been artistically conceptualized and designed with diverse elements coming together to form complete compositions. The collection further features an interplay of patterns, colours and textures to give the designs depth and versatility. Élan Lawn S/S ’15 broadly seeks inspiration across continents, from varied cultural traditions and print and pattern developments through time, from their signature Sub Continental and Moroccan influences to Oriental and Ottoman Inspired patterns, to a more European ethos based on the Sicilian design heritage.

Élan Lawn S/S ’15 is available at a price range between PKR 6,450 and PKR 6,750.

Five terrorists sent to hell in Balochistan Islamabad, Pakistan: On 18 October 24, security forces conducted a successful intelligence based operation in District Pishin on reported presence of Khwarij (TTP). During the operation, five khwarij were apprehended and a large quantity of weapons, ammunition and explosives including 3 x Suicide Vests were seized. Apprehended Khwarij were involved in multiple terrorist attacks and were planning to target security forces as well as innocent civilians. In an other operation in District Zhob on 17 October 2024, during a fire exchange with security forces, two khwarij were sent to hell. In ensuing sanitisation of the area, weapons and ammunition were also recovered in large quantity. Punjab Highway Patrol releases annual performance report for 2024 Lahore, Pakistan: Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) has released annual performance report for 2024 that shows promising working under the leadership of Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar. According to details, in the year 2024, PHP checked 31.4 million people on the highways across Punjab through e-Police Post App and arrested 6,537 proclaimed offenders/judicial fugitives. Punjab Highway Patrol checked 18.8 million vehicles with the help of modern technology and also recovered 3,350 stolen vehicles/motorcycles. Legal action was taken against 869,000 overloaded vehicles for axle load violation. Legal action was taken against more than 12,000 vehicles across Punjab for illegal use of gas cylinders. In view of the convenience of the citizens, last year, PHP issued 148,000 driving licenses - 678 missing children were reunited with their parents. 5,005 temporary and permanent encroachments were removed and traffic flow was improved. More than 112,000 passengers facing difficulties on the roads across Punjab were provided with various types of assistance and guidance. 119,000 citizens were provided with various types of assistance and guidance at Police Khidmat Markazes. 1,093 cases were registered for the use of illegal weapons. 20,925 liters of alcohol, 400 kilograms of hashish, 53 kilograms of opium and 5.5 kilograms of heroin were recovered from drug peddlers.
