ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa) has announced schedule of exciting cultural programmes for the month of January 2018.

The Executive Director of Lok Virsa Dr Fouzia Saeed told the state-run news agency that every Saturday of the month, Lok Virsa Mandwa Film Club would screen a classical film, chosen alternatively from Pakistan and international cinema. Whereas Open Mic would continue every Thursday and Sunday to conduct auditions of new emerging singers.

Lok Virsa’s weekly infotainment programme “Folk Beats” would air a new episode on Pakistan’s folk cultures, every Sunday, she informed.

Dr Fouzia said this months’ Craft is Knowledge programme would kick off in Museum Hall from January 15 as its opening ceremony taking place on the January 16.

The theme of this month’s Craft is Knowledge programme was Traditional Art of Weaving; its corresponding children Lok Mela would take place on January18 in Islamabad Model College for Girls (IMCG)-F7/1, she added.

The executive director said Asian Group of Study would bring thought-provoking programme about Dissolving Boundaries: A Discussion with Guru Garanth Sahib, to be held at the Lok Virsa Media Center on January 8.
