Bestival’14 at Beaconhouse National University Lahore
The student body at Beaconhouse National University is organizing a multi-category event, Bestival 2014. The four-day festival will run from 27th February till 2nd March, 2014. Now in its third year, BNU Bestival is a student-driven initiative that features different competitions in media, literature, performing arts and design, sports and gaming. Participants from different educational institutes will contend in these competitions. The four-day extravaganza will also include workshops, fashion show, concert, drama night, and a carnival.
The theme of this year’s Bestival is all about “Superheroes” – the superhuman traits that have been written about since time immemorial. Starting from the Greek and Roman superheroes like Hercules and Odysseus till the more recent comics based like Superman, Batman, and Iron Man; all superhero fables projects the victory of good over evil. By selecting this theme, students at BNU are urging the youth of this country to awake their inner superhero and to discover their true potential.
Held under the patronage of Directorate of Student Affairs and External Relations, Beaconhouse National University, Bestival 2014 will serve as a medium of interaction for the youth of Pakistan that is inevitably the future of this country. With a mélange of competitions to choose from, the BNU Bestival hopes to bring together people with varied tastes and encourage healthy competition in order to stir a spirit of camaraderie between them.
