Landikotal car bomb blast leaves 23 dead

LANDIKOTAL: At least 23 persons including two schoolchildren were killed and over 60 others were injured in a car bomb explosion here in a busy bazaar on Saturday, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported on 16 June, 2012.

Assistant Political Agent Landikotal Khalid Mumtaz Kundi said that more than 50 kilograms of explosives planted in a pickup truck (853-LKL) went off at 10:55am. He said it was not clear who the target of the attack was.

However, there were indications that the Zakhakhel Afridi tribesmen, who have raised a Lashkar to fight the militants, were the target of the bombing.
