KashmirPresident Alvi led Solidarity Walk to Mark Kashmir Black Day

Islamabad, Pakistan: The President of Pakistan Arif Alvi led the Solidarity Walk to mark Kashmir Black Day here on October 27, 2021.

Starting from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the President joined Parliament Gate and led the walk to D-Chowk.

In his speech, President Alvi said paid glowing tribute to the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) for their remarkable courage, strength, and resilience despite facing the horrendous scale of Indian atrocities.

“I would like to assure my Kashmiri brothers and sisters, that we honor their sacrifices and salute their indomitable spirit as we observe this Black Day,” the president said in his message on the Kashmir Black Day being observed Wednesday.

The president said that the Indian security forces landed in Srinagar to illegally occupy the territory and subjugate the people of Jammu and Kashmir in clear violation of international law and humanitarian norms.

Dr. Arif Alvi said that on August 5, 2019, India moved to alter the disputed status of IIOJK and change its demographic structure.

President Arif Alvi said that the illegal and unilateral Indian actions have been rejected by the Kashmiri people, by Pakistan, and by the International Community for being in violation of the international law, relevant United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions, and India’s own solemn commitments made bilaterally to Pakistan as well as to the people of occupied Jammu & Kashmir.

For more than a year now, Kashmiris have been prisoners in their own homes, aliens in their own land, and unable to walk freely on their own streets, he said.

President Arif Alvi said that India’s inhuman military siege, continued blockade, continuing torture and brutal repression and attempts to change the demographic structure of the occupied territory, have shown the real face of the ‘Hindutva’- driven RSS-BJP regime and its extremist designs. Moreover, he said that the international media and human rights organizations continue to document the tragedy of Kashmir as it goes on unfolding. The president said that though Kashmiris have been facing the worst form of Indian state terrorism for decades they have proved that India cannot break their will with the use of brute force. President Arif Alvi once again re-affirmed Pakistan’s unflinching support to the people of IIOJK in their just struggle. “This support and solidarity will continue until the Kashmiris achieve their legitimate right to self-determination as enshrined in the international law, United Nations Charter, and the relevant UN Security Council Resolutions,” he said.

Meanwhile, in his message, Prime Minister Imran Khan has urged the International Community to take practical steps to stop India from using state terrorism as a tool to destabilize the region and to work for peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions and wishes of the Kashmiri people.

The Kashmir Black Day is being observed on Tuesday (October 27) by the Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) and the world over to convey to the International Community that they reject India’s illegal occupation of their motherland.

“We are observing this day to condemn Indian illegal occupation and to reiterate our unwavering support to the Kashmiri people. This is the only way durable peace and stability can be ensured in South Asia,” the prime minister noted in his message on the Kashmir Black Day.

Message by the Foreign Minister on Kashmir Black Day (27 October 2021)

27th October 1947 is one of the darkest days for Kashmiris. The illegal Indian occupation of Jammu and Kashmir which began on that day smothered the legitimate aspiration of the Kashmiri people to determine their own destiny. The bitter legacy of this act of betrayal continues to weigh heavily on the conscience of humanity.

The people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) have endured endless atrocities. But the occupation forces’ ruthlessness has not blunted the resolve of Kashmiris to throw off India’s yoke.

The incumbent BJP-RSS combine in India has intensified cruelty against Kashmiris. The Kashmiri people remain under siege, their leadership incarcerated and their youth-targeted in staged ‘cordon and search’ operations. But the multi-layered lockdowns and human rights violations cannot dampen the Kashmiris’ indigenous struggle in which thousands of martyrs have rendered the ultimate sacrifice.

India has not only reneged on its obligations to the people of Jammu and Kashmir but has also thumbed its nose at multilateralism by backtracking on the UNSC resolutions.

The unilateral and illegal actions of August 5, 2019 are in blatant violation of UNSC resolutions and international law. Efforts to effect a demographic change and perpetuate Indian illegal occupation in the disputed territory are cynical attempts by India to break the will of the Kashmiris and silence them.

The dream of stability and peace in South Asia and the world at large will remain elusive until the Jammu and Kashmir dispute is resolved in accordance with the relevant UNSC resolutions and aspirations of Kashmiris. India must realize that it cannot suppress the freedom struggle of the Kashmiris by the indiscriminate use of brute force. In fact the senseless Indian oppression has only steeled the resolve of the Kashmiri people to stand firm in their just struggle.

Pakistan has been highlighting Indian aggression and warning the world about ever-growing intolerance in India. Under the incumbent government, India has not only demonized the Muslims but is also subjecting other minorities and scheduled castes to discrimination. Indian government’s manifest hatred for Muslims and other non-Hindu minorities is testimony enough of its unimaginably inhuman conduct in IIOJK. Pakistan has repeatedly provided irrefutable evidence of Indian atrocities and nefarious designs to the world – the latest being the Dossier on “Indian Human Rights Violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK)” released on 12 September 2021.

The world must stop the human catastrophe unfolding in IIOJK. The international civil society and media are also obligated to highlight the plight of the defenseless Kashmiris.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, we in Pakistan are determined to extend complete support to our Kashmiri brothers and sisters and stand in solidarity with them. We will continue to do so until the final resolution of the dispute in line with the UNSC resolutions and as per aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
