KashmirPakistan wants to resolve Kashmir dispute through dialogue: FM Qureshi

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that Pakistan wants to resolve the Jammu and Kashmir dispute through dialogue and peaceful manners as there is no military solution to it.

While addressing a Photography and Cultural Exhibition organized at the Ministry of Foreign Minister in Islamabad on Thursday to pay tribute to the Kashmiris’ resilience in their just struggle for the right to self-determination, Qureshi said that Pakistan did not vitiate the environment and the one who did it needs to create an environment for engagement.

The foreign minister also hoped the new US administration which is talking about human rights protection will stop ignoring the ground realities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). He also expressed the confidence that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the European Union will also play their role in this regard.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that Kashmir is not an internal matter of India. He said that the Jammu and Kashmir dispute has been on the agenda of Pakistan-India talks in the past whilst the UN Security Council has held three discussions on it in the wake of August 5, 2019 illegal Indian steps in the valley.

The minister urged the International Community to pay attention to the gross and blatant human rights violations in IIOJK.

Qureshi said that the diplomats should visit Azad Kashmir as well as the Indian occupied valley to assess the ground realities and judge for themselves as to what the people want there.

"We will continue to stand firmly for ending violence against the Palestinians. Without a shadow of a doubt, we will continue to expose the abuses and sanctimony with which the US is handling the situation.
