ISLAMABAD: Mushaal Hussein Mullick, the Chairperson of Peace and Culture Organisation, has lashed out at the fascist Indian government for torturing the family members and snatching the dead body of the veteran Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Geelani.
In a statement on Thursday, Mushaal, who is the wife of jailed Kashmiri Hurriyat leader, Muhammad Yasin Malik, said that the Hindutva regime was so-scared of this epitome of Kashmiris freedom struggle that even they did not allow his relatives to bury him at the Martyrs’ Graveyard at Eidgah in Srinagar, the place of his choosing and was buried just few meters away from his house in Hyderpora.
Paying glowing tribute to the legendary Kashmiri leader, she went on to say that he was the face of the resistance of the Kashmir freedom movement and Indian authorities used all tactics to silence the most powerful dissenting voice but they could not succeed in their nefarious designs.
Therefore, she said, that he was kept in detention and house arrest to keep him away from the public.
Mushaal demanded that a powerful UN-backed investigation commission should be formed to ascertain the causes of his custodial killing.

Commenting on the IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar’s statement who said that only relatives will be allowed at Geelani’s residence, she said that do they not understand that we all are related? “We might not have the same blood, but we have the relation to fight against oppression.
The Kashmiri leader said that this is the reality of the “so-called biggest democracy” of the world, they will impose curfew and restrictions so that people are unable to pay their last regards to Syed Ali Geelani.
But, she added that his life struggle is a model for us to stand firm against oppression and occupational forces.
Mushaal Hussein Mullick said that the occupation authorities had put strict restrictions on the movement of the people and the whole area was cordoned off to keep the people at bay from the funeral prayers and to deprive them to have a last glimpse of the martyred leader.
However, she vowed that all such tactics were already exhausted by the Indian government but no favorable outcome.
The Kashmir leader said that the sad demise of Geelani has left a huge void not only in Kashmir but also in the region.
However, she vowed: “Yasin Malik will walk on your footsteps and try to fulfill your dreams. If not him then the generations after him. We will keep on fighting till we are free or dead.”
Mushaal further stated that Syed Ali Geelani has struggled all his life for Kashmir but he is no more amongst us but we will continue fighting this war against the brutal occupational forces till making his dream of breaking the shackles of Indian slavery a reality.
