ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) and across the world will observe the Kashmir’s Accession to Pakistan Day on Tuesday, with a renewed pledge to continue their struggle for achievement of their right to self determination and to translate the idea of accession of entire Jammu and Kashmir state to Pakistan under the spirit of the historic resolution passed on this day in 1947.

Elaborate programmes have been chalked out to observe the Day throughout Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), and in other parts of the world where Kashmiris are inhibiting.

A Spokesman of Azad Kashmir government said that it will be a public holiday tomorrow to facilitate the masses to participate in the special programmes to commemorate the day in a befitting manner.

Kashmir’s Accession to Pakistan Day is observed by the people of Jammu and Kashmir in renewal of the historical resolution of Kashmir’s accession to Pakistan, passed by the people of the state through their then main representative organization – All Jammu Kashmir Muslim Conference on July 19, in 1947 in occupied Srinagar, demanding the then Dogra rulers to materialize the accession of the Jammu Kashmir state to Pakistan.

The resolution urged the Dogra rulers to honour the decision and point of view of the majority population of the Muslim-majority Jammu Kashmir state.
