ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Mushaal Hussein Mullick, Chairperson Peace and Culture Organization, has said that Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) has been turned into the ‘world largest tortured cell’ but the countries being called as torchbearers of human rights don’t have the courage to speak a word against India for committing the history worst human rights violations in the valley.

The Chairperson, in her video message on the International Human Rights Day observed globally on Thursday, said that the brutal forces crossed all limits of brutalities, tyrannies, and inhuman acts to muzzle the voices of the freedom fighters.

Mushaal, the wife of detained Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, said that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on December 10, 1948 was indeed a milestone that proclaims the inalienable rights which everyone is entitled to as a human being – regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.

However, Mushaal lamented that the world blinds to the human rights violations range from mass killings, enforced disappearances, torture, rape and sexual abuse to political repression and suppression of freedom of speech, which continued in the valley with impunity.

She stated that not a single basic HR enlisted in the UDHR existed in IIOJK, which speaks volume of the failure and non-serious of the UN and Human Rights organizations regarding the implementation of the human rights in the scenic valley.

She said that mere celebrating the human rights day, taking rallies, holding banners, and delivering speeches would serve no purpose until the world takes tangible and practical measures to ensure resolution of the long-pending Kashmir dispute as per the aspiration of the dwellers of the valley, which is under military siege for the last 493 days.

Mushaal appealed the UN and the human rights organizations to send their teams to take stock of the worst human rights situation, as the fascist Narendra Modi government clamped down complete communication blockade to keep the world in dark regarding unabated brutalities.

Giving detail of the Human Rights violations in the valley, the chairperson said that the brutal forces have been mercilessly killing, arresting, torturing, and humiliating innocent Kashmiris of every age and gender for their just demand of right to self-determination for the last seven decades.

The gravity of the situation could be judged from the fact that Indian troops in their state terrorism have martyred 95,728 innocent Kashmiris including 7,155 in custody since January 1989, rendering 22,924 women widowed and 107,811 children orphaned, she added.

Mushaal further revealed that the troops molested or disgraced 11,231 women and over 8,000 were subjected to custodial disappearance while thousands of young school boys and girls were also blinded by the pellets.

She said that Indian forces further intensified their brutalities and barbarism in the wake of repealing the special status of Kashmir on August 5, as over 295 Kashmiris including seven women have been martyred, besides molesting 94 women.

The chairperson said that top Hurriyat leaders including her husband Muhammad Yasin Malik continue to remain in detention in New Delhi’s infamous Tihar Jail in fake cases.

She said that the international community should act against the “illegal annexation” of occupied Kashmir, as generation after generation of Kashmiris has fought for their right to self-determination, and now time ripe the international community must fulfill the UNSC commitment.
