KARACHI: Alleged mastermind of bomb attack on Sindh High Court (SHC) judge Justice Maqbool Baqar died at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) of his wounds.

Bashir Leghari, who belonged to Dera Ghazi Khan city of Punjab, was arrested by police after an alleged encounter on Wednesday, with multiple bullet wounds in his abdomen. He was shifted to hospital where he succumbed to wounds today.

Body of the deceased was later handed over to his family. His son blamed police for his father’s death, claiming that the accused was not associated with any banned group as police claimed.

Judge Justice Maqbool Baqar was injured while nine other people died when his convoy was attacked with a planted bomb last month.
