ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Islamabad Police have issued a warning against holding any public gathering in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) amid the imposition of Section 144.

In a post on the social media site X, the Islamabad Police said that the Section 144 is in force in Islamabad and; therefore, no rally is allowed without the permission of the district administration.

The police requested the people not to be part of any such illegal activity.

“Islamabad Police is always busy to protect the life and property of the citizens. Citizens should report any suspicious activity on Pukaar-15 (Emergency Helpline),” the Islamabad police said.

Separately, the Islamabad Police have so far arrested a total of 1,446 drug dealers in 2024 and seized more than 44 kilograms hashish from them, according to the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer.

The DIG Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer said that more than 428 kg of heroin, more than 30 kg of ice heroin, 258 narcotic tablets and 11,920 liters of alcohol were recovered from the accused.

Syed Mustafa Tanveer said that all legal requirements will be fulfilled to punish the accused. He said that vigorous actions against drug dealers will be continued to eradicate the scourge of drugs.
