Islamabad, Pakistan: There is a debate going on in journalistic circles about why the should government entertain the demand of PTI to set up a Judicial Commission over the May 9 events when several cases have already been decided and verdicts have been announced. Legally, it is contrary to law to establish a Judicial Commission in cases that have already been decided by the courts. Moreover, what is the justification for setting a Judicial Commission on May 9 events when audio-visual proofs are available who did what?

After suffering one defeat after another in all its false narratives, the demand for the formation of a Judicial Commission by the PTI is disgraceful and illogical. Moreover, if PTI wishes to browse and revisit events that happened in the country, then DGISP was justified in saying that the Commission should review what this party had done to this country and the Commission should then review everything from the 2014 sit-in, attack on Parliament, attack on PTV, violent long marches, anti-Pakistan internal and external hostile demonstrations, and rallies, letters to the IMF, conspiracies against Pakistan through foreign lobbies and the raid on the federation on November 26, is now demanding a commission with what face? If a commission is to be formed, then it will be formed on all these tragedies and anti-national incidents.

The DG ISPR had put his stand before the public on the demand for a Commission. The establishment is still standing on this stand so that all these matters can be seen impartially. In journalistic circles, the most important question under discussion is why did government entertain dialogue with PTI when it from the very first day of conversation said that it would demand setting up a Judicial Commission over the May 9 events although the government knew that legally it would create problems and morally it would hurt the aggrieved party that was attacked on May 9 and it had gathered and shared hundreds of audios and videos with public confirming that PTI leadership planned attacks, executed them and blamed the establishment for what PTI did.  Was there any need to even talk about setting a Judicial Commission over the May 9 events when the verdicts of Military Courts were announced under the guidelines provided by the Supreme Court?

The next week is crucial politically for Pakistan because accepting the demand of PTI to set up a Judicial Commission over the May 9 events would compromise the stated position of law, the establishment, and the sane elements within the ruling PMLN.
