IranIran will never attempt to seek nuclear weapons: Rouhani

TEHRAN: Iran will never attempt to develop nuclear weapons, President Hassan Rouhani said on Wednesday, adding that his administration has full authority to make a deal with the Western powers regarding Iran’s peaceful nuclear energy program.

The Islamic Republic has stated multiple times that “under no circumstances would we seek any weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear weapons, nor will we ever,” Rouhani said in an exclusive interview with a US TV channel in Tehran on Wednesday.

“In its nuclear program this government enters with full power and has complete authority,” Rouhani said.

“The problem won’t be from our side. We have sufficient political latitude to solve this problem,” he added.
