IranIran-Pakistan gas pipeline project to be completed within stipulated time

ISLAMABAD: The Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project will be completed within the stipulated time of December next year.

This was stated by Secretary Petroleum and Natural Resources while briefing the Senate Committee on Petroleum and Natural Resources‚ which met under Senator Muhammad Yousuf at Parliament House in Islamabad on Friday.

The Secretary said it is an important project and will help the country overcome the gas shortage.

The Committee recommended to start construction of power generation units at Gwadar and other areas to produce electricity through the gas imported from Iran.

The committee directed Sui Southern Gas Pipeline Company chief to take action against the elements involved in theft of gas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.
