IranIran agrees to US proposal for direct talks

MUNICH: Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said on Sunday that Iran welcomes a US proposal for direct talks with the Islamic Republic over its nuclear program, and will set “no red line” for the negotiations as long as Washington “has real intention to solve the issue.”

Salehi’s response has arrived after the US Vice President Joe Biden’s statement, he made yesterday while speaking to an international security conference in Munich, saying that the United States would be willing to hold direct talks with Iran “when the Iranian supreme leadership is serious.”

During a panel discussion at the Munich Security Conference, Salehi said that talks with world powers on Iran’s nuclear drive would be held in Kazakhstan on February 25.

“I have good news, I’ve heard yesterday that 5+1 or EU3+3 will be meeting in Kazakhstan 25th of February,” he said.
