RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: To promote National Hockey Sport and provide state of the art Sports Facilities, an International Standard Astroturf Stadium has been established at Ayub National Park in Rawalpindi, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

The Astroturf Stadium was a joint venture of Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL) & Army Heritage Foundation (AHF).

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa was the chief guest on inaugural hockey match played between Pakistan greens and Pakistan white.

The COAS appreciated the MPCL for efforts to revive the national game of Hockey.
