ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Indian troops have committed gross human rights violations in the territory to suppress the Kashmiris’ ongoing struggle to get rid of its bondage.

According to a data issued by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service (KMS) on the occasion of Black Day on Tuesday, the troops have martyred 94,272 innocent Kashmiris since 1989 till date. Of those martyred over 7,038 were killed in fake encounters or in custody.

The killings have rendered 22,806 women widowed and 107,545 children orphaned. The troops have molested 10,154 women during the period.

It is to mention here that India had landed its troops in Held Srinagar on October 27 in 1947 and occupied the territory of Jammu and Kashmir against the will of the Kashmiri people and in total disregard to the partition plan of Indian subcontinent.

Kashmiris world over observing black day today

Meanwhile, Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) and the world over are observing Black Day on October 27 (today) to convey to the world that India’s occupation of Jammu and Kashmir is totally illegal, unjust and contrary to the Kashmiris’ aspirations.

The day is being marked with complete shutdown in occupied Kashmir, call for which has been given by the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, and other Hurriyet leaders including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Shabbir Ahmed Shah and Muhammad Yasin Malik, reported KMS.

It was supported by other pro-freedom leaders and organisations as well as the High Court Bar Association of the occupied territory.
