US says it will support efforts to help improve Pak-India ties

WASHINGTON: The United States has said that it will back efforts to help improve relations between Pakistan and India.

In a daily news briefing in Washington, the US State Department spokesperson Marie Harf said that the two South Asian countries should hold talks directly to resolve their issues.

To a question about any United States assistance for Pakistan in flood relief, the spokesperson said that the US would be ready to help Pakistan government if asked.
