Shahbaz reaches New Delhi, discuss bilateral relations with Indian PM

NEW DELHI: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif called on the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in New Delhi on Thursday.

Shahbaz Sharif arrived in India’s capital city New Delhi early in the day on an invitation extended by Chief Minister of the Indian Punjab Parkash Singh Badal to witness final of the Kabaddi World Cup.

During the meeting between Shahbaz Sharif and Manmohan Singh, both sides discussed bilateral relations and agreed to enhance cooperation in trade‚ energy and information technology sectors.

Shahbaz Sharif, on behalf of the government of Pakistan, extended an invitation to Indian Prime Minister for visit of Pakistan.

The special assistant to the prime minister on foreign affairs Tariq Fatmi was also present in the meeting.

Later, Shahbaz Sharif visited the Patel Chowk Metro station and after taking the metro ride, Shahbaz said he had a great time and said Delhi Metro was of great benefit to travellers.

Keen to ease the power situation in his state, Shahbaz Sharif would be visiting the Timarpur-Okhla Solid Waste Management Project in Jasola and the New Delhi Mahatma Gandhi Thermal Power Plant, Jhajjar, village Khanpur Kalan.

Shahbaz Sharif is slated to be the chief guest at the World Kabaddi Championship final in Ludhiana on Saturday.
