ISLAMABAD: Pakistan said on Thursday that its hearts and doors of its educational institutions are open for Kashmiri students expelled from Indian University.
The Indian police registered a case of sedition under section 124a, 153 a, and 427 against 67 Kashmiri students of Meerut’s Swami Vivekanand Subharti University (SVSU) who had been suspended following their alleged anti-national act while celebrating Pakistan`s win over India in a Asia Cup cricket match on Sunday.
“It is unfortunate‚ if the Kashmiri students celebrating Pakistan Cricket Team’s victory are charged with sedition,” Foreign Office Spokesperson Tasnim Aslam said during her weekly press briefing on Thursday in Islamabad.
“Pakistan will welcome all these students in its educational institutions if they want to complete their studies,” the spokesperson added.
