Pakistan wants cordial ties with neighbours including India: Nawaz

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Monday that forging close and cordial relations with all neighbours including India is the foremost priority of Pakistan.

“I am carrying the message of peace,” Sharif said in a brief statement before leaving for India to attend the Indian Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony.

The prime minister said that he will discuss all matters with the Indian leadership. He said that matters can only be resolved through negotiations.

The Indian prime minister-designate Narendra Modi had officially invited Nawaz Sharif to attend the ceremony.

During his visit, Sharif will also hold meetings with the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Pranab Mukherjee.
