IndiaPakistan rejects Indian allegations of involvement in 1993 Mumbai blasts

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Thursday categorically rejected allegations leveled by India’s top court that Pakistani government agencies were involved in the 1993 Mumbai bombings that left 257 people dead and more than 700 injured.

Indian Supreme Court in its verdict announced on Thursday said that Pakistan and its spy agency ISI played a vital role in imparting training to accused which “materialised” in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts.

The Pakistani government clarified that neither the government nor any agency played any role in the said attacks.

Pakistan is itself a victim of terrorism and it has rendered immense sacrifices in the international fight against this menace, Foreign Office spokesman said in a statement.

The spokesman said Pakistan has on numerous occasions offered cooperation to India in fighting terrorism through laid down bilateral mechanisms.

He said Pakistan remains committed to its resolve to fighting terrorism and engaging with India in a constructive‚ sustained and result-oriented dialogue process.
