Nawaz discuss bilateral ties with Mukherjee, Vajpayee

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif held separate meetings with the Indian President Pranab Mukherjee and former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in New Delhi on Tuesday.

During his meeting with the Indian president, Sharif discussed bilateral relations and ways to move forward towards resolution of outstanding issues.

The Pakistani premier also held a meeting with the former Indian prime minister and senior leader of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Atal Behari Vajpayee at his residence in New Delhi, and discussed bilateral relations.

Sharif said that his government is reinitiating the dialogue process with India to improve its relations with its neighbors.

The prime minister said that Pakistan has always stood for promoting peace, stability, progress in the region, therefore it intends to move forward dialogue process with India with a view to resolve all outstanding issues and to live in peace and harmony with neighbors.
