Hyderabad: A 10-year-old girl was rape and murdered by her elder sister’s husband.The Dispatch News Desk (DND) reports.
The accused, K. Raju, 25, a labourer, raped the girl in her house at Mominpet in Ranga Reddy district on Sunday and strangled her while her mother was asleep. He then ran away, but police tracked him down and took him into custody.
According to Mominpet police sub-inspector K.P. Rajaiah, before K. Raju raped his wife’s sister, he went to his wife’s house on Sunday night after drinking alcohol. “He made his mother-in-law also drink before she slept,” he added.
The crime came to light when the victim’s mother got up in the morning and found the girl dead. “There was blood on her nose and thighs. With the marks on her neck, police believe she died due to strangulation,” a police officer said.
Raju, who was married to the elder sister five years ago, was living separately for the last four months. “When he came home on Sunday night, his wife was not at home. However, his mother-in-law welcomed him and both of them got drunk,” the SI said. Police have booked a case under IPC section 376 for rape and 302 for murder against Raju.The victim’s family is from Karnataka but has been living in Mominpet village for the last 10 years.
